Northampton Parking Hunting License
Suggestions:
- Continue to the end of Center Street and turn right. There are a few 2 hour meters and then many ten hour (quarters only) meters that are sometimes available. This is probably as close to the Meetinghouse as you will get unless you are lucky to find a free meter on Center Street. After a long block there is free parking on the street.
- There is a parking garage on the other side of Main Street. Go back to the main intersection of Routes 9 and 5 and go south on 5 one short block. Turn right on Armory Street and go to the end; the garage is ahead of you to your left. Since it costs a little more, it usually has spaces. On the other hand, you can park for several hours.
- To get to the meetinghouse, use the bridge from level 3(?) of the garage to Thorne's Market and go through the market to Main Street. Cross and turn right, Center Street is the next left.
- There are metered parking lots behind City Hall, but they are usually quite full. Take Crafts Ave (Right on Main from Center, second left on Crafts) and you will see the lot ahead of you, there is another tucked in behind the bus station and City Hall. These are cheaper than meters and allow longer parking.
- Go to the end of Center Street and turn left on State Street. Go as straight through the traffic light as you can to South Street (Route 10). The meters here are ten hour (quarters only) meters.
